Sandra Maxfield: Community Service Recognition Sandra Maxfield is the Community Service Recognition recipient, lovingly submitted by Linda, Jennifer, and Tricia Lohse of the Tucson Foundations. Sandy, a Canadian transplant, embraced the Old Pueblo arts and culture and health and human services community as a community volunteer as soon as she arrived. While working in Michigan as a Registered Nurse, Sandy met Robert Maxfield during his medical residency. The two married and moved to Tucson to build a medical career and a family. Sandy fully adopted the Southern Arizona nonprofit community with her enthusiastic and influential volunteer leadership. As a governance volunteer, Sandy has served on the Boards of Directors for the: Tucson Museum of Art, Arizona Theatre Company, Tucson Pima Arts Council, Amerind Museum, and Arizona Aerospace Foundation among others. Aimee Graves: Community Service Recognition As the CEO of The Haven, Aimee Graves: Community Service Recognition was a perfect fit.  is a nonprofit professional who selflessly invests in emerging leaders through her volunteer work with Community Foundation for Southern Arizona's Center for Healthy Nonprofits. She imparts lessons learned, and offers expert guidance. Her legacy of generosity inspires a mentorship pathway for nonprofit leaders today and into the future. Supporting her peers through volunteerism is what makes Aimee a stand out. Aimee engages in community volunteerism serving on advisory boards for the University of Arizona’s Southwest Institute for Research on Women and the Frances McClelland Institute. Announcing Keynote Speaker Nicole R Smith SAVMA Awards 2024 includes a keynote address by Nicole R Smith, CVA. She is a Panamanian-American, workforce development expert, athlete, published author, nonprofit founder, motivational speaker and sports entertainer. Nicole enthusiastically inspires her audiences with her take on today's volunteerism.  She earned her Bachelor's degree via a Division I full-ride track scholarship. After graduating she founded Step It Up! Inc, a nonprofit dance organization. She performed for audiences nationwide, while simultaneously using dance to teach teamwork to kids in after school programs.  Nicole's experience in sports entertainment, radio, TV, the performing arts and social services spans nearly 20 years covering the Chicago, Houston, Ft. Lauderdale/Miami and Orlando markets. She danced and cheered for four Professional and Semi-Professional sports teams. Undeniably, these experiences gave her a knack for workforce development. SAVMA Awards 2019, an inaugural Event a Smashing Success!

SAVMA Awards 2019, an inaugural Event a Smashing Success! On January 17, 2019, we successfully welcomed more than 50 unique nonprofit organizations to the celebrate volunteerism in Southern Arizona! We acknowledged nearly 400 registrants and 28 sponsors at our inaugural event. We received very positive feedback from attendees and are looking to 2020 to recreate the magic of the celebration at the SAVMA Awards on January 16, 2020. Highlights include: 320 attendees, 20 honorees and 5 major awardees (with over 50 nominations submitted)! We didn't just celebrate our volunteers, we celebrated our Volunteer Administrators! Keynote Speaker, Vicki Clark, spoke about her early career as a Volunteer Administrator, when she was learned the ropes and was the "most inspired."
